Infant Clothes

May 21, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Baby

Next to playing with your new baby, buying infant clothes is one of the most fun parts of being a new parent. After all, your baby looks good in everything, right? One of the great things about needing infant clothes is that they outgrow them so fast you can always find an enormous selection of baby clothes through the comfort of your home. You don’t need to go shopping outside, there are websites that offer Store online. It’s best to choose natural fibers like cotton for most baby clothes because it is not irritating to most babies’ skin.

You could choose to buy retail for basics like undershirts and socks – the things that tend to get discolored and stained the most – and go secondhand for dressy or special occasion outfits, such as outfits for Halloween or Christmas. Shoes for infants are a great buy secondhand because they outgrow them before they can walk and wear them out. The great thing about babies is that you can dress them up in just about anything and they’ll look adorable.

Infant Clothing

April 25, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Baby

On the day that your baby is born, he needs a comfortable clothing to cover his sensitive body from heat and cold. Since baby’s skin is very delicate, parents must be extra careful in selecting his infant clothing. Though cleanliness is the most important factor to consider but comfort also is necessary in choosing infant clothing. In selecting your babies clothes, make sure that it is comfortable, soft and clean.

First time parents have so much to think about! One thing that might slip in importance is the question of how many pieces of clothing you need for your baby. Of course, everyone tells you how quickly children grow, and they aren’t exaggerating. For your typical sized newborn, seven outfits, plus extra t-shirts or onezies, plus plenty of socks is a good start. However if you want to add more, go ahead its you choice.

Usually, about a week’s worth of outfits, with one outfit being dressier than the others is a decent rule of thumb. It must be a law of physics that socks disappear, because they always do. Therefore, a dozen or so pairs of socks is in order. You’ll also want two or three pajamas or closed-end nightgowns. After the first three months or so, you’ll know what your “go to” outfits are for your baby, so when it’s time to buy more, you’ll have an idea what styles your baby wears most. You’ll be amazed how quickly you’re putting away your baby’s outgrown clothes to await a new sibling!

Caring your Child’s Hair

April 19, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Baby, Hair

No child likes to have his or her hair combed and brushed. Shampooing and conditioning is an ordeal that often calls for parents to demonstrate the strength of Hercules and the patience of Job. Most young children have fine hair and tender scalps. This means that their hair is often unmanageable and it sometimes actually does hurt their scalps when you try to tame their unruly locks.

Proper hair care is essential for a developing child. Not only is good grooming part of your child’s personal and social training. It is also healthy. An unkempt, disheveled head of hair could be a haven for lice, which are difficult to get rid of. If you think your little angel hates to get her hair shampooed and conditioned in normal circumstances, imagine her angst when she has to sit through a treatment that requires extensive combing and shampooing following by more combing and conditioning.

Regardless of ethnicity or culture, the following procedures are essential for caring for any child’s hair:
• Use a mild shampoo, formulated for children to wash your child’s hair on a regular basis.
• Gently comb and brush your child’s hair to remove tangles.
• Light brushing is all that is necessary. Over-brushing a child’s hair is not advisable because it can tend to over-stimulate the sebaceous glands, resulting in excessively oily hair.
• Use a large toothed comb immediately after shampooing your child’s hair to get rid of tangles. Start at the base of the scalp and gently comb the hair, a little at a time. A gentle detangler or leave in conditioner will not only help get rid of the tangles it also helps make the entire ordeal easier on your little one.
• Invest in a few inexpensive hair accessories. Your little princess will be more eager to have her hair combed and styled if the reward is a head adorned with an assortment of hair jewelry that compliments her clothes. Before you know it, your little girl will be bringing you handfuls of decorative combs, hair clips, barrettes and hair bands and telling you how to style her hair. New born babies need a lot of nutrition to help them grow strong and healthy. Unlike when he was in the mother’s womb, after birth the baby could no longer receive nourishment from his mother therefore selecting a baby formula is a very crucial thing. Most doctors advised breastfeeding. In the first placed it is the number one food for babies. However for some reasons, if mothers could not breastfeed their babies, a baby formula is the best substitute.

In selecting a formula for your newborn, it is best to ask advice from your pediatrician. Baby formula is classified into two stages from newborn to 6 months and 6 months onward. Specialized formula for newborn contains nutrition that is suited for their age and if you will use it to older babies, you will deprive them from getting the exact nutrients that their body needs. And if you will use the formula of older babies to newborns, they might experience stomach trouble either indigestion or constipation.

There are different kinds of baby formula that is available in the supermarket but see to it that you have read the nutritional facts in its label before getting one. There is also an organic formula that is good to your baby’s health. You can now purchase them online.
