Natural Beauty Regiment

March 16, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Tips & how to’s

Everybody wants to be beautiful. But beauty always has a price. The most evident price is what you pay at the salon or the products you buy. There is however a more costly payment that does not appear until years later. It is the impact on health. Traditional beauty products are almost always loaded with men-made chemicals that have long-term effects when used regularly. Men-made chemicals, though they can be effective, are usually harsher on the body. The result is accelerated ageing, loss in skin tone, wrinkles…etc. Some people develop a hypersensitivity to these products so that they no longer can use normal cosmetics. A natural beauty regimen is softer and gives the body the relaxing respite that makes it more beautiful. Here are some essential components of a natural beauty regimen:

Aromatherapy
While it can be used for many other purposes, aromatherapy is also used for beautification. With aromatherapy, the skin is kept clear, the body becomes smoother, and the hair is encouraged to flourish. Essential oils can be used to treat wrinkles, pimples, cellulite, and dry skin. Some essential oils that are commonly used are lavender, tea tree, and sandalwood.

Natural Shampoos
Exposure of the hair to the chemicals contained in shampoo contributes to hair loss in the long run. It is It is therefore imperative to look for natural shampoos without any addition of chemicals.

Applying Eyeliner

March 06, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Tips & how to’s

Applying eyeliner correctly is the key to making even the smallest eyes appear larger but must be applied carefully to not risk looking overdone. There are several ways of applying eyeliner.

  • Use liquid liner, eyeliner pencil or an eyeliner brush dipped into a deep shadow. Pencil liners, however, need to be set with shadow as it does not last long.
  • Choose eyeliner that compliments your eye color and eye shadow. Brown, charcoal or navy colors will accent light colored eyes, while blacks or plums flatter dark ones.
  • The eyeliner you choose will also depend on the look you’re after. Pencil eyeliners give eyes soft definition while liquid eyeliners create precision and drama.
  • Application depends on the kind you are using. For liquid eyeliner, apply slightly above but in line with the lashes then start from the middle of the eyelid going outward to the corner of the eye. Go back to the inner corner of the eye and line going to the center to complete the line. Use a moistened eyeliner brush for cake liner and sharpen pencils appropriately. Apply in the same manner and hold pencil liners as you would pens.
  • Tilt your head outwards when applying. This gives you a good angle and a good view of what you’re doing. Wait for liquid liners to dry before opening your eyes completely. To get a better look from pencil or cake liners, smudge the liner slightly using your finger, cotton swab or a smudging brush.

Eyeliner Make Up

February 27, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Tips & how to’s

“Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”, but a little eyeliner make up doesn’t hurt to enhance your natural charms.

One important weapon in your makeup bag is eyeliner. Eyeliner has gained ground over the years in application and design. It’s cheap, readily available, easy to use and available in a wide range of varieties to meet your needs.

If you’re new to using eyeliner, consult a beautician or learn how to do it yourself so that you won’t need to spend money for professional help.

Eyeliner is the best and simplest way to give an extra boost to your appearance if done properly. Follow instructions to the letter and you’ll end up with a look that gives the impression you have no make up on at all. In the past, only women used eyeliner, but now, even men use it as well.

Women with stunning eyes usually take to using eyeliner. The trick is to start of with using eyeliner pencil that matches your hair color. Avoid using wild colors that clash with your natural coloring. Similar colors create a favorable blend that will gain you admiration from peers.

Remember, sharpen eyeliner pencils before application. Pencils tend to melt in heat and become too soft. If so, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes before. When you think the pencil is in good shape, start lining your lower lid on the water line from the inner corner of the eye lining to the outer corner.

Hair care tips for pregnant women

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Hair, Tips & how to’s

One of the things you might notice when you are pregnant is the luscious and beautiful hair that you develop. Hormonal changes in the body result in hair growth (some of them unwanted) so that your hair will seem fuller, shinier and more lustrous. Other changes might be noticed in the hair texture. Your hair if you are pregnant is almost always different than normal hairs. Oily hair may become oilier while dry hair may become drier. For most women, these changes become apparent around the second trimester. Some pregnant women may wish

Adapt your hairstyle to the condition of the hair
If your hair becomes thicker, you may like to have longer hair as this compensates for the more rounded face most pregnant women have. However, if your hair is drier, longer hair will make it more difficult to manage. A short hairstyle will be healthier for your hair.

Change the Frequency of Shampooing
If your hair is oilier, you may wish to wash your hair more frequently. If, the contrary, your hair is drier the frequency of washing should be reduced in order to preserve the natural oils produced in the scalp. The type of shampoo used should also be adapted to the new hair condition. Milder shampoos suit drier hair.

Avoid blow dryers
Blow dryers harm the roots of the hair and encourage hair fall. As a hair care, a towel is certainly healthier for the scalp.

Avoid Chemicals
While hair dyes and other permanent colorings are considered safe to pregnant women, most doctors do not advise their use. It is therefore best to adopt natural hair style and coloring if you are pregnant.

Being pregnant is a sensitive condition for women and for the baby. It is important to have proper hair care to maintain the look and beauty of your hair.
