When you’re pregnant your body is going through a lot of changes. You should be relaxing and enjoy every moment of it! You shouldn’t have to worry about anything. Although it’s a nice thought, there are still things that have to get done.

Although this is true, you shouldn’t have to worry about your hair at least. There are a lot of hairstyles that you can get that are very becoming as well as attractive. Even though you’re pregnant, you don’t want to leave the house and be out in public looking any kind of way. There are hairstyles out there that will leave you feeling and looking great.

Whether it’s an easy up look or a long hairstyle, you are sure to find something that suits you really well. When it comes to hairstyles, you should really think about the weather and the seasons. If it’s winter time, long hair is the best way to go. If it’s summertime, you may want your hair out of your face and off of your neck.

If there are any facial features that you love to show off more than others, keep this in mind when doing your hair. Being happy with yourself means a lot if you are trying to relax and enjoy the day. Happiness starts with you.

Mixing Nail Polish

April 16, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Tips & how to’s

The process of mixing nail polish is no different from the steps an artist takes when mixing paint colors. The only difference is you’re working with a slightly different medium. The artist works with larger quantities and is more accustomed to the process than you are. To get started, you will need a few toothpicks, two small fine tipped paint brushes and a thick piece of paper or some cardboard. Next, pour a few drops of the polish colors onto the cardboard and use the toothpicks and brushes to blend the colors. Then just let your imagination and your eyes be your guide.

Once you get the right color blend, you can mix yourself up a batch and store it in a clean bottle for future use.
Before mixing up a big batch, however, test the color on your nail to be sure that it really is what you want. Many times, what looks good on paper or on cardboard doesn’t look the same on your nails. It may be necessary for you to make a few adjustments before you are done. Just make sure you take notes of the colors you use and the ratio of each so you can mix up another batch when that one is gone.

If you don’t want to be bothered with the muss and fuss of mixing nail polish the way artists do, then you can try this method:
• Apply at least two coats of a dark base color;
• Make sure each coat is thoroughly dry before applying the next;
• Apply one layer of a lighter colored nail polish;
• For a shimmery effect, apply a metallic shade before adding the top coat.

Once you get the hang of mixing nail colors, either on a palette or on your nails you will be doing it all the time, and your friends will be constantly asking where you bought that fabulous nail polish.

Children’s hair care

April 14, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Children's, Hair

Taking care of your children’s hair is often frustratingly difficult. Up until the age of 10, most children have superfine hair. This soft and fluffy hair is often difficult to manage, especially since some level of care is needed to ensure that the hair develops healthily. Proper hair care in childhood produces a full set of hair that is important for the psychological development of the child as well.

Proper children hair care also has an affective and educative aspect. By instilling interest in your children’s hair care, you become closer to them. It also provides them with the necessary grooming reflexes that will last them a lifetime. Here are some tips for maintaining the health of the children’s hair:

  • Washing with a mild shampoo is often recommended.
  • Combing and Brushing—only mild brushing should be performed at night as over-brushing will stimulate the sebaceous glands into releasing oils. This will make your child’s hair greasy. A soft combing will give the required shine while removing any tangles.
  • Detangling—this is best done before washing the hair. A wide tooth comb should be used. One should start at the bottom of the hair, working up. To reduce the pain associated with combing tangled hair, the hair should be held taut while combing. A detangler can also be used.
  • Accessories—the right accessories will spark up interest of your children in their hair care. Quality brushes and combs as well as clips and hair ties will considerably alleviate your hair care tasks while decreasing the amount of tangling that occurs.

Beauty Tips for Working Women

April 14, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Tips & how to’s

Appearance in a work environment is a crucial issue for both men and women. However, as always, most pressure is on women. Studies have found that well-dressed and groomed women earn around 10% more money than women that dress plainly. This may sound horribly discriminating but this is how the world works. For women, beauty breeds confidence and confidence breeds success. Yet, many working women are embroiled in their routine that they often forget this aspect. Combining work, marriage and often children, it is very difficult to find time for oneself. Here are some tips for those busy working women who cannot find sufficient time for themselves.

Sports and Relaxation
The first key to beauty is health. If your body is stressed and tired, this will most certainly reflect on your appearance. Doing some amount of sports everyday is not only good for your waistline, it also helps you relax, and results in a more restful sleep at night. These are all important factors in giving you that fresh, youthful look the next morning (instead of the sagged appearance of a tired woman).

Choice of Clothing
Clothing should always be chosen in function of one’s body. In general, clothes with vertical lines make you appear longer, while clothes with horizontal lines make you appear shorter and fatter. Thus, if you are tall, you may wish to appear more voluminous so that clothes with horizontal lines would be more suitable. The reverse is true for people who are short and plump.

Making the Best Eyebrow Shape

April 11, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Tips & how to’s

If you are wondering what is the best shape of eyebrow is best for your face and how to do it, here are some tips that maybe useful:
• You must first examine how the natural arch of your eyebrow looks like then follow it. Usually, your eyebrow will begin at the top of your nose, arch over the middle of your eye and stop at the corner of your lid. If you failed to notice its shape you may hold the eyebrow pencil against your nose but if you are holding it straight up and down you can easily notice the starting point of your eyebrow.
• Using the lower tip of the pencil, angle the pencil over your eyebrow to the point where your arch should be.
• Take away the little hairs that spread outside the natural shape of your eyebrow with the use of tweezers.
• If you were not able to do it accurately or in doubt of what to do exactly, visit a cosmetology expert and have your eyebrows shaped professionally.

Do not run the risk of arching your eyebrows in a shape that detracts from rather than adds to your natural beauty so if you’re unsure of what to do go to the professional. Having your eyebrows arched by a professional is not expensive at all.
