New Hairstyle

new-hairstyle-2Kate Gosselin, the famous newly-single mom of eight underwent a bit of a makeover for a photo spread in People magazine recently. With a slicked back ‘do she looked completely different from her normal asymmetrical hairstyle that has been compared to a porcupine and labeled with such unflattering labels as “reverse mullet.”

The asymmetrical “chunky bob” haircut that “everybody” wanted earlier in the summer seems to be seeing a certain degree of backlash presently, having been skewered by several blogs and comedian Kathy Griffin.

But there is still a strong contingent of busy mothers clamoring for the look that involves varying lengths on either side of the face. From the back, her hair is cut into choppy sections. The longer, asymmetrical bangs are a good way to lengthen a round face. It is also a good way to cope with very thick hair, by giving different sections different lengths.

Hairstyle for Women

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Beauty, Hair

The great thing about being a woman is the variety of hairstyles from which to choose. It can even be daunting. With a little thought and the help of an experienced stylist, a great hairstyle can be yours.Hair texture and shape of the face should be considered first. If your hair is thick and curly, select a style that will work with those characteristics. Don’t select a style that is suited for straight, fine hair; it is fighting nature. Emphasize your strengths. In the same way, a short bob with bang will look spectacular on a woman with delicate feature and oval face. The same style will not look as flattering on a woman with a very round face.

A classic hairstyle for women continues to be the bob. The bob can be worn with bangs, side or center part or with hair that is one length. This hairstyle is complementary for most women.

Layered hairstyles continue to be popular for women. Layering can vary from short to long. Additionally, layers can vary from the front to the back. The most famous example of layering was the “Rachel” sported by Jennifer Aniston in the television show “Friends”. It is a long layer cut with the front angled slightly below the chin. It is a style that flatters every face shape.

Another popular hairstyle for women is the pixie. This is the ultimate in ease. It is a very short cut that is elegant and classy.

Women have many hairstyle options – isn’t that fabulous?

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Hair

Straight hair looks great but it is nice to have curly hairstyle for a change. Here are some great curly hairstyles for you choose.

I. Precise Curls
Although it takes time to have precise curls but your time and effort will be rewarded upon seeing your new hair on the mirror.
Here’s the step
• First you apply hot rollers on your hair and let them set. If hot roller is not available you can use regular rollers on damp hair instead.
• Brushed the curls then apply hairspray to hold it or you can use bobby pins and let it dry with a hairdryer.
• Always use hair spray to set the curls.

Permanent Curls
If you wanted a permanent curls each day you need to contact a professional hairstylist to perform the procedure to your hair. This type of hairstyle can be damaging to your hair during application but it is better to choose the permanent curls than maintaining curls day after day.

Edgy Waves
In this kind of waves you need to use crimping iron to put some edges on your curls. Never use crimping iron to wet hair, it should be dry. Condition your hair everyday to keep it healthy since the heat from crimping iron can dry your hair extremely. Leave –on conditioner may produce best results so it is better than ordinary conditioner.

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: wedding hair

The fun of choosing a wedding gown is only eclipsed by the joy of selecting the right accessories for your hair. There are thousands if not millions of choices for the bride to choose from. Veils can be attached to anything – from tiaras to barrettes to hats or combs. A veil can even be attached to a crown of flowers if that is what the bride wants. The wedding gown sets the town for the bride’s entire ensemble. Therefore, the most important thing to consider when looking at hair accessories is to make sure that whatever she selects, what she has in her hair complements her gown.

She can also decide that she doesn’t want to wear a veil at all. If that is the case, her options suddenly open up even more. Flowers, combs, glittery scatter hair pins, ribbons, bows or simple pearl or crystal pins all make wonderful hair accessories for the blushing bride. Natural elements like tiny sea shells are excellent hair accessories for beach weddings as well as colorful flowers which are also ideal for the wedding that takes place in a park. The choices are limitless.

Half Updos : another Formal Updo Hairstyle

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Hair

The hairstyles that have become known as half updos are an acceptable compromise for hair worn that is worn down and up at the same time. Rather than completely revealing the face with a traditional updo, the half updo is for some a more appropriate hairstyle.

The half updo has been sported by many famous people as they walk the red carpet on the way to receiving an award for their work in television, music or film; attend a movie premier; or take in a play on Broadway. These celebrities include people like actress Nicole Kidman and fashion designer Donna Karan. Half updos can easily be adapted to conform to every type of face. They are most appropriate for the woman who is convinced that wearing an updo would make her look too harsh or overly formal. Half updos have a way of lightening mood, which is why some people like to call it a semi-formal hairstyle. Half updo options are plentiful. Some ideas for half updo hairstyles include:

• Tie your hair just below the crown of your head. You may also use a plastic hair band that closes to form a circle or an elastic hair band. Doing this will allow your curled shoulder length hair to cascade down around your face and down the nape of your neck.
• Swept your bangs to the side and let your hair fall to frame your face naturally. Pin your hair down below the crown just enough to allow a few tendrils of hair to fall loosely down your back.
• Tie or band your at the top of the crown of your head and allow your hair to fall loosely down your back

Soft and Seductive Formal Updo Hairstyles
Angelina Jolie is a perfect example for women with faces that are oblong, heart-shaped, square, diamond or oval shaped. Soft and seductive formal updo hairstyles add height and volume to any woman. To add drama to the soft and seductive formal updo, allow a few tendrils of hair to remain loose, complimenting the wearer’s face and showing off her jewelry. Follow these easy steps to achieve the perfect soft and seductive formal hairstyle for yourself:

• Wash and condition your hair;
• Use you fingers to spread mousse throughout your hair;
• Add volume by teasing your hair at the crown of your head with a small round brush;
• Once your hair is dry create waves all around your head with a large barreled curling iron;
• Pin your hair up starting on the sides and ending at the back of the crown;
• Allow a few tendrils of hair to hang loose and frame the face;
• Apply a generous amount of your favorite holding hair spray.
