• Pull the rest of your hair back and hold it as if you were going to put it into a ponytail;
• Twist the hair to the top of your head;
• Secure the ends with bobbie pins or hair clips;
• Fan the front section out about an inch and secure with hairpins or bobbie pins.

Casual updo hairstyle for Short Hair

Despite what you may think, short hair is ideal for updo hairstyles. Creating a funky updo hairstyle with your shout hair is a cinch.
• Do not wash or comb your hair;
• Give your hair volume by using mousse or gel;
• Use bobbie pins or hairpins to hold your hair in place at different angles along the crown of your head;
• Bangs are optional this hairstyle, so let your imagination take over;
• Use holding hairspray to keep your short updo hairstyle in place all day long;
• If you wish, you could also pin your hair back along the crown.

No matter how casual your hairdo may be, remember that your hairstyle must always compliment your fact and body type. A hairstyle that is uncomplimentary to your face or your body will only make you look off balance. Therefore, it is always a good idea to ask yourself some very serious questions before trying out a new hairstyle.
• Does it compliment my face?
• Is my hair long enough to accomplish the style I want?
• Do I have access to the right accessories to finish off the look I want to achieve?
• Do I have enough time to style my hair properly?

Curling Long Hair Tips

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Hair

Ironically women with curly hair want to straighten their hair while those women with straight hair want to curl their hair. If you are one of those women who have straight long hair but wanted to have a curly hairstyle then here are some tips.

• Prepare all the things you need such as mousse, hair spray, hot sticks and a brush, bobby pins and curlers.
• Shampoo and condition your hair as usual.
• If you will use heat to curl your locks prefer air-dried hair than damp hair.
• Make sure that there is no tangles prior to curling

To start curling your long hair, wrap your hair around the roller or stick and roll it towards your head. Leave the roller in your hair for around ten minutes then unwrap your hair and never do anything else. Set with hair spray.

What to do in Stubborn Straight Hair

If your hair is stubborn, place some gel on your hair before curling it. Wait for about five minutes before you start curling to get best results. There are some styling products that you can use to follow the curls that you want. But if you are not confident that you can do the curling on your own, visit the salon or hire a professional hairdresser to do it for you.
Long hair is great, but if you want to change your image and make your hair sexier with curls then you must be patient because it takes time and effort to achieve great looking curly long hair.

Curly Hairstyle

We went through several years where hair was ironed as straight as possible and curly hair took a definite backseat. But now, thank heaven, those of us with waves or curls can embrace our curliness.

Curly hair tends to be dry and fragile. You can keep it healthy by air drying it as much as possible and using weekly moisturizing conditioning treatments. Leave-in conditioners work great for everyday use.

When it’s time to visit your stylist, make sure that she cuts your hair wet in order to see the curl pattern clearly. Make sure you get long layers, or you’ll end up with a mushroom-shaped ‘do. Some curly headed women recommend choosing a stylist with curly hair on the theory that they know what really works.

Anti-frizz products are your best friend in the summer, as are hair dryers with diffusers. You don’t need a brush or to scrunch your hair with your fingers. Avoid “hot” settings on your hair dryer as much as possible. Adding some shine spray and then giving your hair a quick blast with cool air should work better and be less damaging.

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Hair, Hairstyle

Tired of your straight hair and wanted to have a new look? Go ahead and experiment your hair but you must be careful. I agree that curling your straight hair using strong solution can cause damage but there are many ways to enjoy the look of a curly hair without damaging it. Quickly create a curly hair with these suggestions:
1. Try loose waves – this are large curls that fall generously. To achieve a mass of curls, first it shampoo and condition your hair and let it dry. Twist your hair into a bun near your nape. Put a pin to the bun so that it will stay in place. Allow it to dry naturally then take the pins and let your hair flow. Now you can enjoy your loose waves.
2. Shaggy Effect – another easy to do hairstyle. As usual shampoo and condition your hair then let
it dry. Add hair gel or hair cream to wet hair for more texture. Dry it upside down using a hair blower while your hands tease it. Then when your hair got dry, throw it back and apply hair spray.
3. Precise Curls – to achieve precise curls, it takes a little more time. Use hot rollers to set your hair, once you’ve done brush the curls then apply hairspray to set the curls.
