Hairstyle Tips for Round Face

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Tips & how to’s

So you are one of those women who have a round face, and are worried about the hairstyles to make them look pretty. Well, there is absolutely nothing to worry about this as you can find many options to flaunt your face shape with a few different hairstyles.

However, you must make sure you choose a style that makes you look beautiful and at the same time helps you to minimize the roundness of your face. The best option is to cut your hair short- that will definitely provide instant height at your crown. Avoid fashioning heavy bangs or ironing your hair dead straight, rather go for a layered look. Shags will definitely add length below the chin towards the top of your shoulder giving an illusion of a longer neck.

If you want defined curls, curl your hair around the crown but never near the cheeks so as to create height. Keep the sides of your hair short and hair closer with a curly style which will help accentuate your features. If having long hair is the way to be, layers or shag would be desirable as they will give your neck and face a slender look. Try these tips and everything will be just fine!

Curly Hairstyle

We went through several years where hair was ironed as straight as possible and curly hair took a definite backseat. But now, thank heaven, those of us with waves or curls can embrace our curliness.

Curly hair tends to be dry and fragile. You can keep it healthy by air drying it as much as possible and using weekly moisturizing conditioning treatments. Leave-in conditioners work great for everyday use.

When it’s time to visit your stylist, make sure that she cuts your hair wet in order to see the curl pattern clearly. Make sure you get long layers, or you’ll end up with a mushroom-shaped ‘do. Some curly headed women recommend choosing a stylist with curly hair on the theory that they know what really works.

Anti-frizz products are your best friend in the summer, as are hair dryers with diffusers. You don’t need a brush or to scrunch your hair with your fingers. Avoid “hot” settings on your hair dryer as much as possible. Adding some shine spray and then giving your hair a quick blast with cool air should work better and be less damaging.
