Wedding Hair Accessories

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: wedding hair

The fun of choosing a wedding gown is only eclipsed by the joy of selecting the right accessories for your hair. There are thousands if not millions of choices for the bride to choose from. Veils can be attached to anything – from tiaras to barrettes to hats or combs. A veil can even be attached to a crown of flowers if that is what the bride wants. The wedding gown sets the town for the bride’s entire ensemble. Therefore, the most important thing to consider when looking at hair accessories is to make sure that whatever she selects, what she has in her hair complements her gown.

She can also decide that she doesn’t want to wear a veil at all. If that is the case, her options suddenly open up even more. Flowers, combs, glittery scatter hair pins, ribbons, bows or simple pearl or crystal pins all make wonderful hair accessories for the blushing bride. Natural elements like tiny sea shells are excellent hair accessories for beach weddings as well as colorful flowers which are also ideal for the wedding that takes place in a park. The choices are limitless.

The sounds of wedding bells are always nice to hear. Congratulations! You have so many things to take care of and worry about, your head may be spinning at the end of the day. To make things a little easier on you, you can always start with your hair.

Believe it or not, hair is very important on your wedding day. Aside from the dress, the hair is one of the most important things in the wedding. Everything from the gown, shoes, theme, and hair must be perfect. It’s all up to you. What would you like?

Do you prefer long or short hair? Many people like easy up hairstyles. This is so the hair won’t take away from the wedding gown. Those that would rather have long hair, they keep it very simple, but it is still pretty and classy.

Whether you decide to have your hair long and flowing or up in a pretty style away from your face, it’s a good idea to have some hair accessories. Some of accessories include pearl hair clips, sparkling glitter flower hair clips, and of course diamond hairclips. They will add the last touch that you need to your hair and leave you looking and feeling flawless.

Wedding Day Hair Dos and Dont’s

June 09, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: wedding hair

There is a long list of hair dos and don’ts that apply to day to day situations. However, when it comes to wedding hair, the list of dos and don’ts is significantly different. By sticking to the following list of wedding day hair dos and don’ts, your hair will not be one of the many things you will have to be concerned about when the cameras start up.

Wedding Day Hair Dos
• Find out if your hairstylist’s rate includes extras like a trial run before your wedding day. This way, you will be able to make sure that the hairdo will be able to maintain its allure and stand up to a full day of hectic activity in advance of the big day. You don’t want that beautiful hairstyle to collapse half way through the reception – or worse yet, while the pictures are being taken for the keepsake album.
• Go to the salon on the morning of your wedding rather than have the stylist come to you. This is a definite money saver. Some stylists will charge their full-day rate for coming to your house to fix your hair on your wedding day, even if it only takes a couple of hours for them to do your hair.
• Schedule your hair appointment for several hours before your ceremony. Even if it’s early in the morning, this is the one day in your life when you don’t want your stylist to rush while working on your hair. You want him or her to take as much time as necessary to make sure your hair looks its absolute best.
• Use clip-on extensions and hidden hairpieces. Celebrities have done it for years. This trick of the trade not only adds volume and length, it also adds holding power .
• Look for hair accessories that don’t cost an arm and a leg. Before your wedding day, visit vintage shops and fabric stores, and even do an online search for hairpins and clips that show your individuality, but don’t deplete your bank account.

Wedding Day Hair Don’ts
• If you color or highlight your hair, don’t get a partial highlight, coloring only the top layers of your hair. If you plan to wear an updo, the two-tone look will be most unflattering. Even if you wear your hair down, the uneven colors will show and take away from your otherwise perfect appearance.
• If your day-to-day hair is normally simple, don’t go overboard on your wedding day. Not only will you look artificial and unnatural, you will probably be very uncomfortable and not even feel like yourself.

Women Hair Accessories

May 02, 2011 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Hair

Women love to use hair accessories. It all started in childhood when our mothers put bows, headbands and barrettes into our hair. Of course, they had to coordinate with the outfit we were wearing. As we grew older, we use ponytail holders more to quickly contain our hair or as we grew out our bangs in the teenage years. There are so many options in hair accessories available.

Barrettes continue to be used by women because they are excellent in gathering hair away from the face. A main advantage to barrettes is that they are designed according to hair texture. Barrettes that match hair color can blend into the hair. Another option is to wear a barrette that is designed to draw attention. These barrettes may use have intricate designs or be encased with colorful stones.

Hard headbands are another popular hair accessory for keeping hair controlled and off of the face. They are usually made out of hard plastic, but some are covered with decorative fabric that can coordinate with the outfit being worn. Headbands can be plain or stylized with studded jewels or beads.

Israeli tiechels are traditional head covering for Jewish women. They can be basic as shown below or colorfully designed in paisleys. They cover all the hair, except for the bangs. They are simple and beautiful.

A more casual hair accessory is the bandana. They are many colors and design from which to choose. Usually bandanas are used to contain the hair around the face. The hair in the back is usually left long.

Women have many choices when choosing hair accessories.
