Celebrity Hairstyle

April 08, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Hair, Women’s Fashion

We all like to reminisce about the celebrity hairstyles that swept the world. The late Farrah Fawcett’s mane was probably the most influential style of the 1970s. And stylists everywhere grew thoroughly sick of copying the Jennifer Aniston style in the mid to late 1990s. Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin has received cheers and boos for her haircut, referred to as a “chunky bob” by fans and “a reverse mullet” by detractors.

But sometimes it’s fun to remember a few of those outrageously bad celebrity hairstyles, whether they took place on the head of a woman or a man. Britney Spears head shaving incident did have the effect of boosting her fame, but not necessarily in a good way. Remember Sanjaya Malakar from American Idol? He’ll always be remembered for his outrageous, show-pony-like faux-hawk rather than his singing.

Perhaps the most cringeworthy hair belongs to someone who knows how to take it as well as dish it out. Good old Donald Trump and his comb-over. It’s one of the few things that makes him sympathetic. Money can’t buy active hair follicles, apparently.

Hairstyle and the personality of women

April 08, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Hair, Women’s Fashion

Many people think that they have the ultimate choice over how they look. Hairstyle, being a fundamental part of our appearance, is often carefully chosen by most of us in order to reflect our body size, shape and other physical characteristics. Research has shown that humans begin to form an impression of an individual’s personality and character within seconds of first meeting them. Hairstyle has been shown to be one of the major factors that help form an opinion of the personality of the person we are looking at. The reverse has also become known to be true. We choose our hairstyle in function of our inherent personality traits.

Short Hairstyle Personality
Short hairstyle is often associated with financial well-being. A well-groomed hairstyle of this type indicates a personality that cares for appearance and is willing to spend profusely in order to look splendid. This also suggests some vanity and a psychological need for acceptance.

Long Hair Personality
Long hair indicates some resistance to growing up. Women with long hair have trouble accepting their age. It indicates a personality that is immature and irresponsible.

Hair colored white/gray Personality
Women with light colors as these have little problem with growing old. Their personality is independent. Social norms and pressures are shrugged off easily. They decide for themselves what is right or wrong.

Purple hair Personality
Women with strange hair colors are non-conformists. Most of them have an artistic side. Most of them are young and have a taste for adventure.

Bobs Haircut

One reason why so many people fall in love with the bob haircut is because you are able to customize it any way you would like. Before you make the final decision to go through with getting this particular style, you may want to see a picture that was created with the look you desire, so that you will be able to have an idea of how everything will look. This technology helps a lot of people with their final decision.

Since this is a very popular style, you may be wondering how you can make it unique so that this style will only fit you. Some people go to extreme measures to be different. What many people don’t realize is that a hairstyle is already different and unique because no one’s features and facial structure are the same. If you would still like to be outgoing and different, you could try some highlights or a totally different color. To stand out a little more, some people add bangs or cut a little more hair off from the back.

No matter how you decide to be different and stand out, it is very important that you are sure that you really want to go through with such a drastic change. Some people would like to be different, but don’t want to get outrageous. They would still like to be professional, but unique as well. To achieve this goal, highlights are the way to go. The color of your highlights should depend on the color of your hair.

Getting the Right Wedding Hairstyles

April 05, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: wedding hair

Congratulations on your special day! This is one day out of your life that will mean absolutely everything to you. Besides the birth of a new family member, a wedding is sure to follow. It is one of the most important and most hectic days of your life.

Not only does the dress mean a lot, but so does your hair! You may not realize it or may not even be aware of it, but your hair is just as important as your dress and everything else in the wedding. Believe it or not, your hair could add to your dress and make you look quite delightful, or it could take a turn for the worse and really take away from your face, dress, and character. Needless to say, you really don’t want this to happen.

By following a few tips, you can look your best and feel confident walking down the aisle. Since this is your special day, everything has to look and feel perfect. Anything less will not be tolerated! It’s very important that you get things done right the first time. This way, you won’t have to go back and fix anything.

Think of the dress that you would like to wear. Then, see if you can find that very dress or something similar to it. Once you have done this, it’s time to think of a hairstyle. This is more important than you’ll ever know. The hair dictates a lot.

As far as the hair is concerned, look at your dress and come up with a few styles. If your dress has an open neck or the back out, you will want to have your hair pinned up in some sort of style, maybe an up-do. If your dress happens to be simple and plain, you can wear your hair down and framing the face.

Hairstyle Tips for Round Face

March 07, 2012 By: Jocelyn Iyog Category: Tips & how to’s

So you are one of those women who have a round face, and are worried about the hairstyles to make them look pretty. Well, there is absolutely nothing to worry about this as you can find many options to flaunt your face shape with a few different hairstyles.

However, you must make sure you choose a style that makes you look beautiful and at the same time helps you to minimize the roundness of your face. The best option is to cut your hair short- that will definitely provide instant height at your crown. Avoid fashioning heavy bangs or ironing your hair dead straight, rather go for a layered look. Shags will definitely add length below the chin towards the top of your shoulder giving an illusion of a longer neck.

If you want defined curls, curl your hair around the crown but never near the cheeks so as to create height. Keep the sides of your hair short and hair closer with a curly style which will help accentuate your features. If having long hair is the way to be, layers or shag would be desirable as they will give your neck and face a slender look. Try these tips and everything will be just fine!
